Happy update: Megan has been adopted!

Megan thanks you. After spending all six years of her life with her cat siblings and loving owner, her life turned upside down when her owner suddenly became ill and passed away. Before her passing, her owner had one wish: For her cats to find a new home where they would be loved and cared for.

Thankfully, a loved one of the owner contacted the Animal Rescue League and brought Megan and her two siblings into our care. Adjusting from their cozy home to the new sounds and sights of the shelter was incredibly alarming, so we placed them into a large kennel together and showered them with extra love and care. While Megan and her siblings weren’t deeply bonded to one another, they certainly helped comfort one another during this transitional period of their lives.

After a few days of settling in, Megan became more comfortable and blossomed into a social butterfly! Soliciting love and pets from anyone who passes, she is now a staff favorite. While her other two siblings were quickly adopted, Megan is still waiting for her forever home, and until she finds one, we will continue to spoil her with love and treats.

Although Megan’s case is unique, her story is just one of many that we touch every day at ARL. We are so grateful for the family member who contacted our Pet Help Center to coordinate the intake of Megan and her siblings. We would also like to thank our animal care team for helping Megan adjust to shelter life, and of course, we are so grateful for our generous donors who make it all possible.
