Fozzy Bear
We first met Fozzy Bear when he was a stray puppy suffering from an upper jaw fracture, a dangerous fracture that required immediate medical attention. Thankfully, Fozzy Bear pulled through his surgery that was supported by our generous donors, and his recovery has been steady ever since!

Over four months later, Fozzy Bear has done quite a bit of growing in the midst of his healing journey. Now, he has a consultation on August 8th to see if he requires a second surgery to correct his adult teeth that may have been impacted from the fracture. Fozzy Bear has been in the comfort of his loving foster home over the past few months, where he soon hopes to become a permanent resident!
Otis
Born under the care of a foster family, it didn’t take long to notice that Otis was born with disabilities that caused him severe pain. He couldn’t take more than a few steps at a time without having to take a break. As it turned out, Otis had severely displaced kneecaps, a condition that could cause cartilage damage and other deformities as he continued to grow.
Before Otis could receive surgery to fix his condition, he required physical therapy that he is currently wrapping up this week. He will need two rounds of surgery to correct one kneecap at a time, with his first round being slated for August 16th! He will then wait 6 weeks to complete his surgery and be all ready for his forever home.

Damos
After struggling with severe anxiety from his lengthy stay at the shelter, Damos began to self harm in his kennel, jump on people when stressed, and show signs of severe anxiety around strangers.
Thankfully, not only did Damos work with our Canine Behavior and Enrichment Supervisor to begin working through these issues, but he also received a Bogey’s Academy scholarship at the shelter, an award which provides four weeks of training upon his adoption.

The last time we updated everyone on Damos, he had just began to settle into his new home. Thankfully, we reached out for another update from his family, and they were thrilled to report that he is absolutely thriving! Currently, he is making progress on adjusting to strangers and new dogs with the help of his dedicated parents.
Seeing the journey of each of these dogs truly warms our hearts, and we are so grateful to share their stories because These dogs have been given their fresh start at life thanks to you. Thank you so much for caring for animals like Fozzy Bear, Otis, and Damos. We couldn’t do this lifesaving work without you!
