Celestia sitting pretty for her foster parent.

When we meet cats like Celestia, we are always amazed by their incredible resilience. In an atypical fashion, she was discovered by her finder after someone dropped her off on their porch, where Celestia was in labor and about to give birth to a litter of kittens. While she thankfully went on to deliver five healthy babies, she needed a place to care for them until they were old enough to find their new homes.

Fortunately, Celestia and her litter fell into the right hands, as her finder was a foster through ARL. After contacting us, the finder was able to foster Celestia and her five babies after receiving all the supplies and resources needed to care for the cats. The cats also received the medical support they needed thanks to our veterinarians who took swift action in ensuring their well-being postpartum. For nearly two months, Celestia and her kittens were able to recover and be cared for in a peaceful home environment that they needed to thrive.

While every outdoor cat has a distinctive story and outcome, we were able to place Celestia and all of her kittens into loving homes to start a new chapter of life. We were also pleased to discover that despite living outdoors for some time, Celestia was very friendly and social, so it didn’t take long to find a new family who is absolutely head over heels for her!

Although Celestia’s case is unique, her story is just one of many that we create happy endings for every day at ARL. We are so grateful for Celestia’s foster parent who immediately acted on caring for her while she was in labor, and we also couldn’t have made this happy ending possible without our medical team, foster team, and incredibly generous donors who help us make it all possible!

Lusterdawn, one of Celestia’s kittens, is simply purr-fect!
