CUMRU TOWNSHIP, P.a., July 15, 2023 – The Animal Rescue League of Berks County (ARL) announced today multiple adoption events with the goal of finding homes to as many pets as possible.
The events are
Pay-What-You-Can Adoption Event for all animals over 6 months of age on July 15 – 16
Kittenpalooza for all kittens under 6 months of age. During this event, to be held on July 17-18, the second kitten adopted the same day will be $50 off.
Bunnypalooza for all rabbits on July 20. Adult rabbits will be already spayed/neutered.
“For the past couple of weeks, we have been fighting some illnesses affecting the cat and dog populations at the shelter, and it is vital to find homes for healthy animals to prevent them from getting sick,” said José Joel Delgado-Rivera, Chief Communications Officer at the ARL.
All adopters must go through the ARL’s regular procedures to adopt, including the completion of an adoption profile and speaking with an adoption counselor to ensure that the pet they select is a good match for their home, family, and lifestyle.
Dog adopters (when available) will want to bring cash or a check for a $7 dog license, which is required at the time of adoption under PA law. Adopters will also want to bring a cat carrier (or they can purchase one from the ARL for $5) and a dog collar and leash (or they can purchase one from the ARL).
The adoption hours are
Monday-Friday from 1 PM – 6:30 PM (waitlist closes at 6 PM)
Saturday – Sunday from 12 PM – 5 PM (waitlist closes at 4:30 PM)
