This National Senior Pet Month, we want to showcase our beloved senior pets who are looking for their forever home for the rest of their golden days. Often demanding less exercise and spending more time cuddling and sleeping, senior pets can make a great addition to any laid-back home. If you’ve been looking for an easygoing pet in your life, then look no further, and get to know some of the senior pets looking for a home today!

Can’t adopt? Spread the word or foster! Sharing pictures of our adoptable pets from our social media channels is a great way to increase our animals’ chances of finding a loving home. If you have room in your home to foster, senior pets are a population within our shelter who greatly benefits from spending time in foster care, and they are typically lower maintenance compared to younger pets.

Dyamond
I’m just a beautiful Dyamond in the ruff! I came to the shelter in pretty rough shape, but my friends here at the shelter really helped me get cleaned up and become nice and shiny. Stop by the ARL and see how adorable and wonderful I am!
Cali
Cali here! I can be a little shy around new people, but with a little love and patience I can show you just how wonderful I can be. I lived with another cat previously, but I wouldn’t mind being the only feline in your life. I hope you’ll give this older gal a chance!
Snickerdoodle
It’s me, Snickerdoodle! I’m a beautiful tortie girl with an upbeat attitude and a pleasant purr-sonality. I love to be around people and get lots of pets. I haven’t been around other animals, but I’ve done great with kids. Can’t you just picture me laying in a sunbeam and showing off my adorable belly? Please adopt me today!
Maggie
Hi, Maggie here. I’m a no nonsense kind of girl who knows what she wants! I love comfy beds and head scratches, but my favorite past-time is laying on bags. I’m currently in foster care away from the hustle and bustle of the shelter, and now, I’m a pretty relaxed cat enjoying my golden years. Ask an adoption counselor how you can meet me today!
Two Faced
Hi, I’m Two Faced! I’m always ready for a pet so I will quickly greet anyone who stops by to visit me! I’ve lived with other cats, but being an older lady, I’d prefer a calm home with other laid-back animals like myself. If you’re interested in meeting me, don’t be a stranger – stop by today!
Chance
Heya! I’m just a lovable potato with the roundest body you’ve ever seen, and I just love everyone I meet! I have lived with dogs before and am respectful of them. My previous home said I am even good with cats. If you’re looking for a big ol’ pittopotamus, come to the ARL and take a “chance” on me!
Lucy
Hi, my name is Lucy! I am a sweet girl that loves to hide, but once you find me I will give you tons of love and affection. I’m pretty laid back, so I would love a calm home with older children or adults. Come to the ARL and see what I’m all about!
