Venus thanks you. She couldn’t hear us tell her how good of a girl she was when she first came to the shelter because her ears were swollen shut due to a severe infection. A senior pit bull who was found as a stray, Venus was as gentle as they come and full of unconditional love, but we could tell she needed some TLC as she flicked her head back and forth from the pain of her infected ears.
Already an excellent patient, we immediately cleaned Venus’s ears and treated them with an antibiotic. While taking a closer look at her, we also observed that her right eyelid was turning inward and required an entropion surgery to prevent her from losing her vision. During her initial medical exam, she was so appreciative to finally get the care she needed and showered our team with lots of love, and we also learned that she is the world’s best treat-taker!
After receiving her surgery and undergoing three weeks of receiving her antibiotics, Venus was finally feeling the relief she needed to get ready for a forever home. While she was a staff favorite during her short time at ARL, she was quickly adopted into a loving home who understands her ongoing medical needs that will allow her to live her golden years in good health. We are so appreciative of Venus’s finder, our team for making her healing journey possible, and to all of our donors who support our organization because of resilient pets just like Venus.
