Goggles is one of the 700+ kittens that have come into our care this summer alone. Yet, unlike some of the kittens we see, both of Goggles’ eyes were extremely swollen due to a severe infection and required immediate medical attention.

While both eyes were deeply infected, Goggles was not old enough to receive a surgery to have them removed, so our medical team rigorously treated the infection with an antibiotic in the meantime to see if they could be saved. During this time, she rested comfortably with a loving foster family where she was spoiled with love, delicious food, and lots of toys.

While one eye ultimately ruptured and required surgery, her other eye was completely cleared within a few weeks of receiving her treatment! Just days after her procedure, she was already back to playing and exploring the world with her remaining senses in all her wonder. As if it couldn’t get better for Goggles, she was even adopted shortly after her surgery during our Clear the Shelters event, where she and 70 other animals found homes in one weekend!
