beautiful when she first arrived at ARL.
Pepe thanks you. She used to call an abandoned house her home before she was discovered by our Department of Animal Protection. In fact, nobody wants to live life “in the gutter”, but that is exactly where we first met this poor cat who had no family to call her own. When she came to ARL, we knew she belonged in a loving home due to her outgoing mannerisms.
With just a bit of love and care, we knew Pepe would be ready for her forever home in no time, and her life would finally start to look different for the better. She was very healthy overall, apart from some dirt buildup and irritation around her ears that was immediately treated upon her initial medical exam. Despite coming from such a lonely situation, Pepe was notably brave and friendly around new people, and we were so proud to see her come out of her shell even further during her time at the shelter.
As you can imagine, it didn’t take long for this sweet girl to find a new home, where she was adopted with another cat who also came into our care as a stray. We have since received a very happy update that Pepe and her fur brother are thriving together with their new family who absolutely adores them, and the pair have quickly become best friends!
Although Pepe’s case is unique, her story is just one of many that we create happy endings for every day at ARL. We are so grateful for our Department of Animal Protection and the Reading Fire Department, who collaborated together to help Pepe during her time of need. We would also like to thank the kindhearted person who alerted us about Pepe’s situation and all of our generous donors who make these outcomes possible!
