Community Service
The Animal Rescue League of Berks County (ARL) is now accepting individuals needing to complete Community Service, both court-ordered and school obligation.
Due to the high volume of interest, candidates interested in fulfilling community service with us must review, complete, and submit our full application form with the required documents (as applicable) and receive approval from the ARL prior to beginning their service.
PLEASE NOTE: Community service volunteers do not have direct contact with our animals, rather they are responsible for other tasks that help support our mission. Tasks around the shelter include but are not limited to cleaning, laundry, groundskeeping, organizing storage areas, and other duties as required. The ARL reserves the right to accept or deny any application if it does not meet our community service guidelines. The ARL will NOT ACCEPT any community service volunteers who have been charged with any violent crimes, acts of violence, theft, animal abuse, or sexual offenses – NO EXCEPTIONS. Background checks may be done.
