We are so grateful for your interest in supporting the ARL by hosting a fundraiser! Thank you! As a non-profit charitable organization, the ARL does not receive any federal, state or county funding. More than 89% of our operating budget relies entirely on donations from events, as well as donations from businesses and individuals. As you can imagine, every penny counts, so we are grateful for whatever support you can give us!

Whether you need help determining the best fundraiser to host, or if you already have a great idea and have set up your fundraiser, we’d like to hear from you! Below are some important tips and reminders from us when setting up your fundraiser:

How the ARL can help support your event

  • We can provide brochures and literature about the ARL and how your fundraiser helps animals in need.
  • If available, we can send a volunteer to attend your event and set up an event table with promotional materials and to collect donations. We have a dedicated group of volunteers who attend events and are great ambassadors to the organization. Because we work with a limited number of staff, unfortunately, we cannot always guarantee attendance at your event when they are needed to care for the animals and to help them find homes.
  • If we are able to, we will also send an adoptable animal or an ARL “alumni” animal. Please know that due to a number of factors, we can never guarantee animal attendance at an event. Our animals’ well-being is our number one priority and concern, and we kindly ask for your cooperation and understanding that this is a strict policy, and animal attendance is based on a number of factors, including handler availability, an available animal’s personality, weather, shelter hours, event location, etc.
  • If you create and post the content, we can add your event on our Facebook page if you add us as a co-host. If your event lasts more than a day, we may only be able to list it for a limited length of time. Please know that while we are extremely grateful for all events that help us raise money, our number one priority is finding homes for the animals in our care; therefore, we ask that you understand our social media channels and website are reserved for their promotion.

How the ARL might not be able to support your event

  • Due to our non-profit status, we cannot sell tickets to your event or pre-purchase tickets to your event. We also cannot supply any funding to finance your event and cannot be held liable for any debts incurred.
  • Although we are grateful for good intentions and any money received, we do not promote fundraisers where we must reach a quota before we are eligible to receive funds (e.g., restaurant fundraisers where $500 in sales must be reached before we would receive a portion of the proceeds).
  • We are not able to support fundraisers that conflict with our values.
