So many animals come into the ARL as strays with no names. Here's your chance to give a great new name to a great pet! For a donation of $5 or more, you get the privilege of naming a shelter pet! Look for signs on the kennels. When you name the pet, your name will be placed on the web site with the pet's photo below.

Are you 60 years of age or "better"?  The ARL now offers cats who are 5 years old and "better" to anyone 60+ for a donation.

We love our seniors (humans and others!) and think that age doesn't matter. Just another "seniors for seniors" program offered to the public by the ARL!

I'm silly Molly! I am a 1-2 year-old female Border Collie/Golden Retriever mix. You may have noticed that my skin looks kind of funny. When I first arrived at the ARL, I had a nasty skin condition. After lots of TLC, I am all healed and ready for my furever home. My fur is growing in nicely and will continue to grow.

I am housetrained and crate trained. I have LOTS of energy and love to play. I'd love another dog to play with! After I'm done playing, I do enjoy snuggling on the couch with the kids in my foster home. I am fine with other dogs and kids. I even know how to "sit" and "shake!" I really like car rides. It’s hard to believe, but the ARL staff found me limping on route 422 with my sister.  That was certainly no place for such a loving girl like me.  And neither is this kennel I’m in! I’m not sure why my owner surrendered me but I was really sick. The very nice cat room staff immediately started me on medicine and after a long rough first month at the shelter, I’ve completely recovered.  I love attention but also value my independence (after a long session of head butting and telling you the neighbors secrets, I need a soft bed to kick up my paws and fall asleep in). Hi, my name is Candy and my story is very sad. I was found in a pasture with dead and other starving horses. I am a 17-year-old dark bay thoroughbred mare.  I have had beginner riders on me but I have not been ridden for a year due to my owner's life being too busy. That's why I was surrendered to the ARL. I'm great with being trailered, I stand nicely for the vet and farrier. I will be staying at my present home until adoption.
